Assistant/Associate Professor Department of Nutrition and Food Science Wayne State University
The Department of Nutrition and Food Science at Wayne State University is seeking candidates for a 9-month, tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor position. We seek candidates with demonstrated research excellence in the area of community nutrition. Candidates may have expertise in any of the following areas: community nutrition, public health nutrition, nutrition intervention, behavioral medicine, health risk and disparities, epidemiology, or other related fields. The qualifications of the candidate will determine the rank of the appointment at the level of an Assistant or Associate Professor.
A doctorate degree in nutrition or health sciences is required. RD credential is preferred. The successful candidates should demonstrate an ability to: a) develop research collaboration both within and across disciplines in order to develop interdisciplinary research teams; b) obtain extramural research funding; c) teach in the Department's undergraduate and graduate programs, bring unique expertise and perspectives to the nutrition curriculum, and mentor graduate students within and outside the Department. The Department has three divisions: nutrition, food science and Coordinated Program in Dietetics, and offers Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Arts, Masters and Ph.D. degrees.
