The Helen and Arthur E. Johnson Beth-El College of Nursing and Health Sciences at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs
invites applicants for the position of Assistant Professor of Health
Sciences beginning in August 2019. The successful applicant will have
training and experience in health promotion, health education, public
health, or a related field with an emphasis on healthy lifestyles (e.g.,
active living, healthy eating, mindfulness). Preference will be given
to candidates with experience teaching in the following areas: health
promotion/education core competencies (e.g., health behavior theory and
change, program planning and evaluation, intervention methods, community
health) and /or courses related to healthy lifestyles for individuals
and/or communities. Applicants should have experience with community
collaborations and demonstrate evidence of a research trajectory. The
successful candidate will be expected to conduct and publish research in
their area of expertise, advise students, and engage in department,
university, and professional service. Work distribution will be 40%
teaching, 40% research, and 20% service, teaching 15 credits per
academic year (a 3-2 load) as part of the 40% teaching distribution in a

- Terminal degree (e.g. PhD, EdD, DrPH) in Health Promotion/Education, Public Health, Community Health, or a closely related field
- 2-years experience teaching and/or conducting research on healthy lifestyles (e.g., active living, healthy eating, mindfulness) for individuals and/or communities
