FoodWIse Regional Program Manager (SNAP-Ed and EFNEP Program)

The purpose of this position is to provide coaching and support to county-based grant funded Nutrition Coordinators for program plan development, implementation, evaluation, and reporting. The Regional Program Manager will also work collaboratively with the FoodWIse State Coordinator in supporting administrative functions related to human resources and grant program management. Frequent travel to meet with Nutrition Coordinators, Area Extension Directors, and other county stakeholders will be required. The Regional Program Manager is an employee of the University of Wisconsin-Extension Cooperative Extension, a member of the Health & Well-being Institute. PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Provide coaching, advising and technical assistance to nutrition coordinators related to development, delivery, evaluation, and reporting of direct education alongside the implementation of policy, systems and environmental change approaches to encourage healthy eating and physical activity
  • Conduct regular reviews of local FoodWIse project management and delivery
  • Monitor program evaluation data and reporting through online database systems to ensure timely and accurate entry of data in collaboration with the FoodWIse Program Evaluation Specialists
  • In conjunction with the State Program Coordinator, support personnel recruitment processes, including being a member of the search and screen committee for nutrition educators and occasionally nutrition coordinators
  • Review nutrition coordinator annual program plans and year-end-reports and offer comments/suggestions for improvement
  • Provide orientation and guidance to newly hired nutrition coordinators
  • Provide guidance and support to nutrition educators related to educational programming, recommended teaching resources, and program evaluation strategies in the event of coordinator vacancy
  • Review and offer guidance and suggestions to coordinator and educator professional development plans in collaboration with the FoodWIse Training & Staff Development Specialist
  • Communicate Extension’s value by developing effective relationships and providing relevant program outcome information to public officials, legislators, the general public and other interested parties
  • Reach and engage diverse audiences in ways that are inclusive and do not discriminate to ensure full access to programs, facilities and educational services
